Caravans for an art lover

project_1Caravans for an art lover was a live event held on August 27th at the Pollokshields Playhouse, Glasgow.

3 caravans were live painted by artists Kirsty Whiten, Rogue One and Recoat design. Donations and aid were collected and organised by the fantastic SAFR group. All of this was driven in a convoy to the Calais refugee camp in September 2016.

Smartphones for refugees

Buy a smartphone for a refugeeSmartphones for refugees was an online social media campaign initially created to ask people to donate their old mobile phones. When it became apparent that many mobile phones are difficult to unlock from their networks we allowed people to buy a mobile phone for a refugee through our online shop.

This enabled us to buy 65 mobile phones and working in conjunction with volunteers from Phone Credit for refugees we were able to fit them with SIM cards and distribute them to minors and other vulnerable people who were being evicted from the Calais camp.

Dunkirk Children’s Centre

wellieswaterproofsAfter reading the heartbreaking account of a volunteer at the Dunkirk children’s refugee centre we ran an appeal to collect waterproofs, wellingtons and warm clothing for the centre. We also raffled off an original painting and were able to send 100+ childrens wellies and boots, 100+ jackets and tens of waterproof trousers and jumpsuits for toddlers.
